Frank Sinutre: musica elettronica con strumenti elettronici home made.

Isi Pavanelli (reactabox, synth, beat maker, vocoder) e Michele K. Menghinez (chitarra, basso, vocoder, lap steel, batteria) costituiscono i Frank Sinutre nel 2011. Fin dai primi live decidono di utilizzare alcuni singolari strumenti elettronici autocostruiti, come il Reactabox (ispirato al celebre Reactable, consiste in un controller midi dove loop ritmici, sequenze melodiche ed effetti sono attivati e controllati tramite speciali cubetti da collocare e muovere su uno schermo interattivo), Drummabox (drum machine acustica basata su Arduino) oltre che strumenti tradizionali (chitarra, vocoder, synth, basso, lap steel guitar etc). Nei live show utilizzano anche un particolare visual show algoritmico anch'esso home-made che consiste in un flusso di immagini processate e rielaborate attraverso il segnale audio.home-made

Frank Sinutre hanno all'attivo 5 album (fra cui una colonna sonora e uno di remix) e più di 350 live sparsi in Italia ed Europa.

Nel 2012 la prima pubblicazione ufficiale: realizzano la colonna sonora per lo spettacolo teatrale "La Colpa della Leonessa" che è stato inserito nel “Festival Internacional de Teatro Social” di Valencia in Spagna per la regia di Anna Volpi. Anche la strumentazione si rinnova e costruiscono un secondo ReactaBOX più performante che li accompagnerà nei live successivi.

Il 25 marzo 2014 esce il secondo album “Musique Pour Les Poissons” per l'etichetta statunitense di New York “System Recordings”, in concomitanza con l’uscita del libro di uno dei due "Michele K. Menghinez - Racconti per pesci del mare d'aria" che accompagna l'uscita del disco. Dal disco vengono estratti 2 singoli “Someone's Dub” e la cover “Oye Como Va” per i quali, il videomaker Giovanni Tutti, realizza i video: il primo dei quali interamente in stop-motion con plastilina e Lego.

Nel 2017 raggiungono l'obiettivo nel crowd funding per la realizzazione del terzo reactaBOX (nella campagna Reactabox-3 a new midi experience).

Il 19 maggio 2017 esce il loro terzo disco “The Boy Who Believed He Could Fly” per l'etichetta New Model Label, anticipato dalla single track “Driving thru a City by Night” e successivamente dalla traccia “Sunset with Sunrise” delle quali Giovanni Tutti realizza entrambi i video in stop-motion, utilizzando nel primo burattini e macchinine, e rappresentando il comportamento cellulare durante la riproduzione nel secondo).

Proprio dalla traccia “Sunset With Sunrise”, il 7 dicembre 2018 esce “Sunset with Sunrise Remixes”, una compilation di 7 remix di questo brano, realizzata da 7 dj e producer provenienti da Italia, Portogallo, Svizzera, Danimarca e U.S.A. E pubblicata da New Model label.

Il 17 luglio 2020 esce il primo singolo “200.000.000 Steps” del loro quarto album in studio che anticipa l'uscita del disco omonimo il 25 settembre; il 12 febbraio 2022 esce il secondo singolo “Let This Sound Sing” accompagnato da uno psichedelico video del regista Giovanni Tutti in cui vengono mostrati gli strumenti home made che usa la band e il 16 dicembre dello stesso anno il terzo singolo, il primo in italiano della band dopo 10 anni di attività: “Franco Cerca Un'Ora” realizzato sempre da regista Giovanni Tutti che vede come protagonista Quica una splendida cagnolona attrice. Sempre Tutti il 25 Novembre 2023 realizza l'ultimo video di questo album per la single track "God Bless Big Bang"

A partire dal 2012 hanno partecipato a più di 350 live sparsi fra Italia, Slovenia, Svizzera, Croazia e Austria in svariate situazioni: festival, disco, c.s., installazioni di videoarte patrocinate da Università, pub, seminari sulla musica elettronica, percorrendo le strade che portavano a Roma, Milano, Torino, Zurigo, Ljubjana, Bologna... Sempre per ritornare a Sermide, il paesino in provincia di Mantova da dove vengono, nella casa di campagna dove hanno scritto i quattro dischi.

Frank Sinutre Biography:

Frank Sinutre, an electronic project born in 2011 in Mantova (Italy) that uses home made electronic instruments as well as traditional ones.

It is formed by Isi Pavanelli (ReactaBOX, synth, beat maker, Drummabox, vocoder) and Michele K. Menghinez (guitar, bass, lap steel guitar, vocals, drums, percussion).

Since the beginning they played homemade electronic instruments such as Reactabox (a midi controller inspired by the famous Reactable™: it consists in a cube of light that works with an infrared webcam which works by reading images on little cubes and discs controllers that are placed and moved on Reactabox screen) and Drummabox (an acoustic drum machine based on Arduino).

In 2012 they released the first album “La Colpa della Leonessa Soundtrack”, a Soundtrack for the theatre play “La colpa della Leonessa”, directed by Anna Volpi and presented at “Festival de Teatro Social” in Valencia. Even the live-equipment is renewed: they built a second ReactaBOX more performing.

In March 2014 they realized a second album “Musique pour les Poissons” released by the New York label “System Recordings”. The album was released in conjunction and paired with the book: “Racconti per Pesci del Mare d'Aria”. The videomaker Giovanni Tutti directed two videoclips of the single tracks of the album: “Someone's Dub” (a stop-motion video) and the cover “Oye Como Va”.

In May 2017 Frank Sinutre reached crowd funding target for the realization of the third reactabox (Reactabox-3 a new midi experience).

19^th May 2017 their third album "The Boy Who Believed He Could Fly" has been released by the italian label New Model Label. From this third album, Giovanni Tutti realized two stop motion videos of the single tracks “Driving Thru a City by Night” and “Sunset with Sunrise”.

About “Sunset with Sunrise”, seven djs and producers from different parts of the world remixed it and these seven remixes have been included in an album “Sunset with Sunrise Remixes”, released by New Model Label in December 2018.

In July 17^th 2020 New Model Label released the first single track of their fourth studio album. Both the track and the album are called “200.000.000 Steps”. Giovanni Tutti directed the video of this song. The album was released in September 2020 and in February 12^th 2022 a second single track “Let This Sound Sing” with a new psychedelic video by Giovanni Tutti. In December 16^th 2022 a third single track with videoclip by Giovanni Tutti has been released, this song is called “Franco Cerca Un'Ora” and it is the first single track by Frank Sinutre in Italian language. In November 25^th 2023 Giovanni Tutti realized the fourth single track video for this album: “God Bless Big Bang”.
During these 12 years Frank Sinutre played in about 350 live gigs all over Italy and Europe.
